How It Works
Workflows, documents, and laws, working as one system
Most legal software handles one piece of the job. Lexomatic connects all three, so the data your client gives you at intake becomes correct, jurisdiction-specific documents without re-keying, lookups, or guesswork.
The three pillars of the Lexomatic schema
Every matter runs on the same connected structure. Each pillar stays in sync with the other two, across every jurisdiction.
Workflows orchestrate the process
A workflow moves each matter from intake through filing. Step routing, conditional gates, and payment collection are configuration, not code, so the process adapts to the matter without engineering work.
Documents are the output
A multi-stage pipeline assembles data, applies transformations, selects the right template, and renders the final instrument. Attorneys control the templates; the pipeline does the production.
Laws are the constraints
The platform knows which statute requires which filing, which agency accepts it, and what each state calls it. Legal requirements shape every workflow step and every document.
How a matter moves through Lexomatic
A single matter flows through four connected stages. Data captured at intake carries forward through every stage that follows: nothing is re-entered, and every step builds on the last.
Intake
Structured intake forms capture the client's facts in the shape the rest of the matter needs, adapting their questions to the matter type and jurisdiction.
Strategy
The structural decisions that shape the matter are made with jurisdiction-specific context. The platform consults the encoded law and builds everything downstream around the chosen approach.
Fulfillment
The document pipeline generates the complete package for the matter: the right instruments, the right clauses, formatted for the right filing agency.
Relationship
The matter stays live after the documents are delivered. Deadlines, renewals, and changes in the law become recurring touchpoints instead of missed obligations.
Jurisdiction-awareness in action
Consider entity formation. The same workflow produces a different document, filed with a different agency, under a different statute, depending on the state. The configuration resolves the differences; nobody looks them up by hand.
| One formation workflow | State A | State B |
|---|---|---|
| Formation document | Articles of Organization | Certificate of Formation |
| Filing agency | Secretary of State | Secretary of State |
| Naming rules, fees, statute | Resolved per state | Resolved per state |
Every workflow, document, and law in the platform is built this way. Adding a state means adding configuration, not writing code, so coverage grows without rebuilding anything.
Two ways to run on Lexomatic
Embed it in your product
Technology companies integrate legal workflows, document generation, and jurisdiction-aware logic through a REST API. Your product gains legal capability without building the domain knowledge behind it.
